Server Monitoring with the PING Monitor

Description

This monitor makes it possible for you to monitor through a PING command. It checks whether the server to be monitored answers a PING request.

Parameter

Warning Response Time
[Milliseconds]
Time in milliseconds within the server has to respond (default value: 2000)
This value has to be smaller than the limit for "Critical".

Warning Packet Loss
Percentage of lost packages (default: 20%)
This value must be less than the "Critical" threshold.

Critical Response Time
[Milliseconds]
Time in milliseconds within the server has to respond (default value: 3000)
This value has to be larger than the limit for "Warning".

Critical Packet Loss
Percentage of lost packages (default: 20%)
This value must be greater than the "Warning" threshold.

Timeout
[Seconds]
Time in seconds before a connection attempt times out.
If a timeout occurs, the status of the check is changed to Critical.

Availability Report

OK
Server is responding to a PING request within the given timeframe

Critical
Server is not responding to a PING request within the given timeframe

Performance Report

Response Time
Time, which is needed to execute the check
