Server Monitoring with the SSL Cert Monitor

Description

This monitor makes monitoring of the remaining period of a website's or mail servers SSL certificate possible.
You can check if the cerficate of the monitored website or mail server will expire within a given time frame.

Parameter

Protocol
Protocol of the service

Port
Server's port to be monitored. (default value: 443 for HTTPS, 465 for SMTPS, 993 for IMAPS, 995 for POP3S)

Validity Warning
[Days]
Minimum certificate validity in days before the check changes its status to Warning.

Validity Critical
[Days]
Minimum certificate validity in days before the check changes its status to Critical.

Timeout
[Seconds]
Time in seconds before a connection attempt times out.
If a timeout occurs, the status of the check is changed to Critical.

Encryption
Selection of the encryption protocol
In most cases the check negotiates the encryption protocol with the server. If this does not work the encyptioon protocol can be choosen. The newer TLSv1 should be preferred.

Check SSL Certificate
The Root CA and the correct domain of the SSL certificate will be checked.

Different IP
Different node IP for load balancer scenarios.

Add. HTTP Header
Additional HTTP header information (name: value) which should be added to the request.

Availability Report

OK
SSL connection could be established, remaining period until expiration of the certificate is greater than threshold

Warning
SSL connection could be established, remaining period until expiration of the certificate is less (or equal) than threshold

Critical
SSL connection could not be established, certificate is already expired
